SSG Scaffolding is a scaffolding contractor delivering commercial, industrial, and social housing scaffolding across England. From our head office in Hull and operational hubs across the country, we support housing associations, local authorities, NHS Trusts, and Tier 1 contractors with scaffolding programmes ranging from single-site commercial work to multi-property retrofit at framework volume.
We are a specialist access contractor. Scaffolding is what we do - designed, erected, inspected, and dismantled to the standards procurement teams expect, with the documentation and compliance that supply-chain partners require. Our work spans commercial scaffolding for retail, office, and facade projects; heavy-duty industrial access for manufacturing and processing sites; and framework-scale social housing scaffolding for retrofit and planned maintenance programmes. We also deliver specialist access including temporary roofs and roofing access, and scaffolding for solar PV installation as an access partner to solar and electrical contractors.
Whatever the configuration, we bring the design capability, crew depth, and compliance to deliver it safely and on programme.
SSG Scaffolding is part of Snug Services Group, a multi-brand construction and property services group. SSG Scaffolding operates as the group’s specialist scaffolding and access contractor.
We hold framework relationships with Tier 1 contractors including Fortem, Wates, Equans, SureFire Management Services, and Synergize Ltd, and are the sole scaffolding contractor on a five-year planned and responsive framework with Salix Homes. We have delivered scaffolding directly for local authorities and for Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, and have completed multi-property retrofit and solar programmes across England with consistent zero-incident, on-time performance.
Our approach is straightforward: respond quickly, design properly, deliver safely, and document thoroughly. We aim to survey within 48 hours, mobilise within 5 working days of a confirmed order - and often within 48 hours for short-notice requirements - and we maintain full RAMS, statutory weekly inspections, and per-project records throughout. The goal is to be the scaffolding partner that delivers on programme and never creates a compliance problem for the client managing the works.
SSG Scaffolding holds a procurement-grade accreditation stack: NASC - the scaffolding industry’s primary accreditation - alongside CHAS Elite, Constructionline Gold, and SafeContractor. Combined with £10M public and employer’s liability insurance, CISRS-certified teams, and TG20:21-compliant scaffolding with independent structural design where required, our credentials meet the prequalification requirements of Tier 1 contractors, major housing associations, and public-sector frameworks.
